| The job of plant protectors is to
protect plants against insects and pests and to increase
their resistance against other harmful organisms. |
 |
Alpine supplies complete systems for the manufacture
of insect spray, dust or granules. The required fineness
for dusting agents ranges between approx. 99% < 40
– 75 µm. Alpine UPZ fine impact mills are
used for this task. The particle sizes demanded for
insect sprays are between 99% and 99.99% < 10 µm
and finer, whereby fineness values of less than 40 µm
are also required. The end products range between <
10 – 40 µm in size, are free from spatter
grain, and are obtained with Alpine's AFG fluidised
bed opposed jet mills. The fine grinding of so-called
"wettable powders" without deposits or coating
formation is also possible for critical products with
low melting points.

The system schematic shows a system for the production of plant
protectors. The design was based on the following problem specification:
Feed size: 97% < 1.5 mm
Feed moisture: < 8% H2O
End-product moisture: < 2% H2O
Demanded end- in the range of 97% < 4 - 6 µm,
product fineness: dependent on the product properties and operating
parameters. If required, the fluidised bed opposed jet mill
can also operate at predetermined temperatures in this case,
too.

For safety reasons, the systems for processing plant protectors
are blanketed with N2
gas and equipped with O2
monitors, or are designed to be pressure-shock-proof to 10
bar overpressure. The systems are designed to conform with
the ATEX Directives RL 94/9 EC. To suit the product properties
or in accordance with customer specifications, the product-contact
system sections are made of V2A-steel (1.4541).
