The Hosokawa Alpine presented itself at Powtech in Nuremberg together with her sister companies Hosokawa Bepex, Leingarten; Hosokawa Micron BV, Doetinchem; and Hosokawa Micron Ltd., Runcorn on the largest booth with a surface of more than 500 m². Many visitors seized the opportunity to inform themselves about the Group’s wide range of processing technology. Whether agglomerating, briquetting, compacting, containment, contract grinding, disagglomerating, drying, extrusion, filtering, material handling, micronizing, mixing, nanotechnology, pelletizing, process automation, screening, spheronization, weighing, wet grinding, the Hosokawa Micron Group offers innovative process technologies for many industries such as chemicals, ceramics, cosmetics, food, metals, minerals, pharmaceuticals and recycling.
In 2012 Hosokawa Alpine will not participate in the ACHEMA trade fair, but host the in-house show AlpineExpo on the 21st and 22nd June, 2012 at its headquarters in Augsburg/Germany and will invite many national and international guests.

For Hosokawa Alpine AG of Augsburg/Germany, the POWTECH, which will take place in Nuremberg/Germany, is leading among trade shows with a focus on methods for the production of powder and bulk materials. No other trade show offers such an extensive presentation of machines and staff from manufacturers of production equipment. Specialist visitors to this trade show benefit from a unique depth and width of information..
At POWTECH / Technopharm 2011, Hosokawa Alpine will significantly step up the range of machinery and technology presented to customers and interested visitors. The booth, also featuring exhibits from Hosokawa Bepex GmbH, Hosokawa Micron B. V. and other members of the Hosokawa Micron Group, was extended from 240 sqm to 500 sqm – the largest booth at the POWTECH 2011! This additional space will be used to show more machines and it also offers additional conference rooms for intensive talks..
Every three years, Hosokawa Alpine AG used to present the company’s latest products at the ACHEMA trade show in Frankfurt/Main. However, the ACHEMA-related activities are no longer considered adequate for presenting the company’s product and service portfolio in detail. Therefore, Hosokawa Alpine decided to step up its activities at the POWTECH and will no longer present at the ACHEMA.
As an alternative to the ACHEMA trade fair, Hosokawa Alpine will also host an in-house show on the 21st and 22nd June, 2012 at its headquarters in Augsburg/Germany. At AlpineExpo 2012, speakers from different areas of science, research and the industry will present technical papers to an audience of national and international specialists.

HOSOKAWA MICRON moves offices from Cologne to Augsburg
|
HOSOKAWA MICRON – a Division of Hosokawa Alpine AG will move from Cologne to Augsburg at the end of 2011.
Manufacture and assembly of the Hosokawa Micron products –MIKRO ACM and MIKRO MAK classifier mills, the MIKRO Pulverizer hammer mill, the MIKRO classifier CC as well as cyclones and metering and discharge units– was already transferred from Cologne to Augsburg in 2006. And from 2012 onwards, the design & engineering, project planning and sales departments will also follow suit.The product range of Hosokawa Micron will remain in our portfolio, and we will continuously refine and develop it further.
You will still be able to purchase spare parts from us for machines such as the MIKRO ACM classifier mills without problem – even for machines that were delivered many years ago. We will also continue to offer a full range of service, maintenance and upgrades in the future too.
Your former contacts for service and spare parts will remain in Cologne and can be reached under the telephone and fax numbers you are already familiar with.
The location in Augsburg has a highly effective testing centre that is unique in size and resources dedicated to process technology equipped with over 65 machines and systems, among them also machines belonging to the MIKRO series. Together with the fully equipped laboratory, it offers our customers ideal conditions to permit determining the optimum system configuration and process parameters. |

Comminution and classification committee of experts

The Comminution and classification committee of experts were in session on 9 & 10 May at Hosokawa Alpine. Half of the members hail from universities and the other half from industry. Professor Kwade from Braunschweig chairs the committee, deputy chairman is Frank Müller from BASF Ltd. The committee meets once a year at different locations. The meetings serve to keep the committee members abreast of actual research topics, to develop strategies for the respective fields of activity with respect to research and education and last but not least, to make new contacts and cultivate old ones. For the most part, such a meeting comprises a series of presentations to which guests are also invited. A record number of 70 participants took part in the event which was held this year in Hosokawa Alpine's training centre.

Seminars Grinding, classifying and particle characterization in research and product development

At the end of January 2011, Hosokawa Alpine teamed up with Malvern Instruments to invite customers from research and development in Germany and Switzerland to a seminar on “Grinding, classifying and particle characterization in research and product development”.
Appropriate
analysis instruments as well as knowledge of the optimum use and correct evaluation of measurement results are the prerequisite for successful research. The seminar presented
currently available technologies and explained aspects of their use for research and development.
The event concept was like a road show, set to tour six venues in Germany and one in Switzerland, so that customers did not have far to travel. The programme comprised a lecture session followed by demonstrations of the exhibits on tour.
The overall response to the invitations
has been quite positive. The events, which were held in February in Mannheim and in Olten,
Switzerland, and in March at Hosokawa Alpine in Augsburg, followed by Dresden, Hamburg,
Düsseldorf and Hanover were attended by 273 participants. |

ECS European Coatings Show 2011

From March 29 to 31 Hosokawa Alpine and Hosokawa Micron participated again in the ECS in Nuremberg. At the booth the new air jet sieve e200 LS was displayed. Then there was shown a complete system with ACM classifier mill, cyclone and filter. An last but not least there were introduced 2 miniature machines of the new picoline series. |

From March 7 to 10 Hosokawa Alpine joined the German participation and exhibited for the first time in the ArabLab in Dubai. At the booth were displayed the new air jet sieve e200 LS, the lab jet mill 50 AS and the miniature jet mill picojet.
